Speak out to stop crime

Posted by Digital Editor on August 10, 2007 9:00 AM |

IS THIS the Southport we proudly talk to visitors about?
A woman attacked by local young people on her way to buy cigarettes, a lad shot while innocently listening to his MP3 player in the street?
We are a resort aiming for classic status, a town renowned as peaceful, friendly and one where we look after our own.
Lately, it seems ‘looking after’ has taken on the innuendo of a 1930s gangster movie.
If you know something, speak up. Keeping quiet about these vile acts is almost as bad as perpetrating them.
