Do not pass judgement yet

Posted by Digital Editor on August 24, 2007 9:00 AM |

EMOTIONS, understandably, will run high amid talk of relocating ex-convicts to unspecified locations in Southport.
Especially when the former prisoners are from a unit which deals with criminals addicted to substances of all descriptions.
So what do we do? Fear for the safety of those living in the proximity of Green Pastures’ rehabilitation units? Start painting a picture of youngsters being offered drugs on street corners?
Or do we take a deep breath, pause for a second, and think more calmly?
According to experts, there are rehabilitation units like the one reported all over the country.
For all we know, there could be some in Southport as we speak.
They are manned by experts, to deal with those who need their help, and the ex-inmates will be in an environment where any form of narcotic will not be tolerated in any way.
Perhaps we should wait for the full facts before jumping to any further conclusions.
