Southport Hero

Posted by Visiter Newsdesk on January 23, 2007 8:16 PM |

The word 'hero' is used all too frequently and all too loosely, but it is the only word to describe the courage of Southport teenager Christopher Fraser-Perry.
The former Birkdale High pupil has this week hit the international headlines with an act of such bravery it has astounded the entire world.
While under a barrage of gunfire, Christopher volunteered to be strapped to the wing of a helicopter to recover the body of a fallen colleague.
Christopher's amazing courage is an example to us all. He is the pride of Southport and a true hero in every sense of the word.
Meanwhile back at home, the ever-controversial Chapel Street pedestrianisation project has sparked yet another fierce row.
This time traders warn in this week's Midweek Visiter that the "ill-judged" siting of the new disabled parking bays outside Millets on Tulketh Street, within the pedestrianised zone, is an accident waiting to happen as shoppers are forced to dodge vehicles vying for the much sought after spaces.
Have your say on our special forum, and don't miss this Friday's Southport Visiter for the latest on the row and much more.
