Building debate

Posted by Visiter Newsdesk on January 28, 2007 10:08 AM |

Developers certainly have designs on Southport.
This week, the Southport Visiter exclusively reveals dramatic new plans for one of the town's most well-known landmarks - the Kingsway building.
The plans include a £30million, 10-storey, contemporary apartment and leisure complex, which will undoubtedly divide opinion.
Traditionalists out there will call the plans Kingsway landscape vandalism, while the more futuristic visionaries will call the proposals Southport's first steps into the future.
In the same week, the Southport Visiter reveals a new £3.5m "22nd century" vision for Lord Street, which includes a complete transformation of the northern end of the boulevard, as well as dramatic upgrading around the war memorial.
Whatever your thoughts on the two latest projects for Southport, you can air your views by logging onto the Southport Visiter's fantastic online forums.
Southport's Offshore Rescue team are celebrating after they hit their £132,000 fundraising target to buy a new boat. Fundraisers thank the generosity of the people of Southport and you can send them your messages of congratulations right now by clicking onto the Southport Visiter forums.
